The Gulf Coast Watermelon Association is searching for an enthusiastic and professional representative who will become the Promotional Ambassador for the association for the upcoming year. She will make appearances in schools, supermarkets, parades, festivals, media interviews, as well as many other functions scheduled to promote the watermelon industry. The Queen will be a paid public relations representative and will also receive scholarship money. Upon completion of her reign, she will compete for the title of National Watermelon Queen at the National Watermelon Association's Annual Convention.
